My Idea of the People

Vietnamese Guy Smiling

Wherever you live, you have an idea of the people we are living with. In France i would say they are hypocrites cartesian skeptic and immature people. That is hard but i can say whatever i want cause i am french and free (Double F).

But about the vietnamese it’s different, i will not say it’s better. Sometimes it’s worst than in France but sometimes better so let’s highlight the “good” and “bad” behavior.

Before i Start

We’re not perfect, and that is a fact. I’m not perfect, nobody’s perfect. So whenever we talk (about anything!) we are wrong because we’re not perfect (that is a fact). Perfect means you’re all, you know all and do all kind of things.

But let’s see humanity as a whole where human beings are not perfect, but if you take all the people of this planet and make 1 person with all the spirit, mind, experiences and souls of all those people. Well the guy that came out of that would still not be perfect in my opinion!

Yet, it’s by learning from our mistakes and observing the other people that we know where we are not good at.

And also it’s when we see the truth even if it is ugly awful that we evolve in some higher spiritual places. Life is a spiritual thing and i will always think that, but that’s another subject which i will not go into now.

So about the vietnamese people Hum Hum Hum

Beautiful Vietnam Woman with her Baby

To understand the vietnamese people. You’ve to understand where they come from. SO who are those people?
Vietnamese fought for a thousand years against chinese oppression. They’ve been murdered, they’ve been to many wars, and there was never a time when the vietnamese people were actually ‘free’. They have been colonized by France, the Mongols, the Chinese, the Japanese, the Americans etc … and still! They ‘won’ all wars.

We can’t actually say they won, if they were colonized it means they lost somehow.

I think vietnamese are natural people. Like the chinese, they see money as a game, remember what i say here. Vietnamese people do not want your good feelings or friendship, they want your money.
I defy anyone that lives in Vietnam more than 2 years to tell I’m wrong.
They will try to deceive you or create a fake atmosphere whenever you’re about to buy something. If you go in Vietnam you got to negotiate! You have to low down the prices, they will not do that for you, you might love that game too but i don’t.
They are also like that with each other, not only with foreigners. So those people are sharks to each other, there weapon? The smile!

Here i talk about the smile again!

Vietnamese smiles, they are very smily, oh yeah! They smile a lot. It might look good at first. But you don’t know why they’re smiling, for instance if you go buy shirts and trousers at a little vietnamese shop in the Ben Thanh Market, they will smile! Because of your $$$!

Whenever they smile when you’re about to buy something, it’s for your Cash! It’s for your money!

You don’t need to buy gifts to vietnamese, just give them money. You can have any wives you want if you have money. You can have all drugs and all kinds of things here with money, you can corrupt the cops or even corrupt anyone for just a few dollars. This is the reality about Vietnam, they are all sharks trying to get on each other, and keep reading.

The Good Side of the Vietnamese People

This is not only in Vietnam that we live in a world of Sharks. The whole world is a world full of sharks or wolves (whatever concepts suits you best). All i’m trying to do here is to give you new concepts of something you’re not aware of (if you never been in Vietnam), and for the others that been here i’m trying to be as factual as possible.

Vietnamese Smiling WooWoo

Can you imagine those people greedy? Hunger of money. Or do you imagine them differently, like humans and friendly? What would be your idea of that?

One of the major problems (not really a problem) is that we can’t know what they think. We don’t know if they are smiling for this or for that till you deal with them and see by yourself.
But with my experience i’d say those ladies smiles are pure and not fake, they are not dollar thirsty bastards. But if you live in cities like Saigon and Hanoi (cause those pictures are taken in the far ass of Vietnam up in Sapa northern Vietnam), and you want to buy stuffs and all, you will see what i mean. BUT! (And keep reading)

They are no different than us

It’s not in Vietnam that you will find the most professional liars or deceivers of all time but in Europe or America.

I hope it was instructive for you. Sorry if it was shocking, it is not my intention.

A lot to say

Tuesday, May 8th, 2007

There’s a lot to say about Vietnam, about the war of Vietnam, about how the people here do stuffs with each other and i’m used to have those informations instantly. When i first came in Vietnam i would say a lot of stuffs! But now i am used to live here it’s pretty hard to describe it!

I’d like to introduce the Vietnam War later to explain what the heck happened during that war. Most of the people knows Vietnam because of this war! And that’s a shame! Vietnam deserve much more than being cursed because of a stupid war.

One thing for sure is that the Roosevelt administration got a hold on Adolf Hitler when they wanted to, and Adolf Hitler got huge fleets, huge armies and airplanes etc etc… But yet the Americans got Hitler down.

So you tell me! How come the USA lost the war of Vietnam? If they lost the war in Vietnam it is because it was planned that way! Roosevelt said one thing that is interesting:

When something happens in politic whether it is bad or good, make sure that it was planned that way

Vietnamese dudes loves to see what you got in your bags, sometimes they even put their hands to stretch the opening of the bag, to see what you got (NO JOKE). They all look at what you buy or what you got in your bag!! Even when you’re on the motorbike with all those bags they still try to look inside lol!

And if you’re unhappy with that! They don’t give a damn and laugh! But that’s what they only have in this country, their laughs.

When a man has nothing left, his only weapon is his smile.

There’s nothing we can do…

About the Vietnamese - Good and Bad Habits

Tuesday, May 8th, 2007

Let’s talk about the vietnamese and what they do good and wrong, because most of the time i say this is a great country wow great stuffs happens but what about the dark side of the force in Vietnam?

Real Fact #1:

2 Years ago, when i was working for an I.T. company in Saigon, i was like a technical manager or a trainee or i still don’t know what i was actually but that’s another story.
So 2 years ago, my boss tells me to go with a vietnamese technician to a company that is a bit far from where we work. So we go there, it was about 40 km far from the center of hcmc, so we go in the company that have a huge factory probably a 100 meters long and very large. The boss of that company is a friend of mine, he is french so we talked a bit with each other to know whatssup.

So we were chatting, and in his office there is a huge window where you can see all the factory. And here comes the technician! It’s here that’s funny:

The technician did so: He put his toolbox 50 meters away from the printer that had a problem and that he was supposed to repair. And well it’s kind of unusual to put it that far lol. So the technician (his name was Dung), takes a tool. He goes to the printer. Then he needs another tool and goes back to the toolbox that’s 50 meters away. Then he goes back to the printer with another tool. And goes back to the toolbox. And again and again and again.

Yeah. He did that for like 2 hours. With my friend we couldn’t say a thing, but i swear there’s all kind of things in this country that happens all the time and i don’t even pay attention to that kind of things anymore as it makes you more nervous than happy.

Other Facts #2

When you see how they made those electricity wires, there’s a lot of questions that goes in your head right?

Questions! How does trucks or high cars can drive under those stuffs? How do they know which cable is linking to which house? How do they repair the stuff? Do they repair the stuff? How they will be able to change the “layout” of their electricity wires in the future? Is there electricity problems in Vietnam?

Well! A lot of questions. One question that i can answer is yes theres a lot of electricity problems in Vietnam, that’s why most companies that uses computers have UPS for each computers in case the power is out.

Another question that i can answer is: When trucks passes beneath some of those cables, and in some streets the cables are very low. Theres vietnamese dudes that goes on the top of the truck with sweepers and they try to put the cables up or away so the truck can move in the street. This is no joke!

Well…..

Indeed Vietnam is an awesome place, there is nothing to say about all the stuff above. Vietnamese people have been oppressed for many years by their government, and we would be like them if we born in Vietnam and that’s a fact! There’s no trick!

The vietnamese governments doesn’t care about the evolution of their people nor their city, they just care about the evolution of their profit or economy. Cause they make huge profits. The average wage for a vietnamese is about 60$ so imagine the kind of profit they can make. Of course for 60$ you don’t get the super worker but it’s still a worker that you can do stuffs with.

The Facts of Dalat

120,000 souls live in Dalat today. The town is located at 5000 feet (1500 meters) above sea level. The name derives from the acronym of the Latin phrase ‘Dat Aliis Laetitiam Aliis Temperiem’ (”Giving Pleasure to Some, Freshness to Others”).

Dalat is one of the place you visit when you come in Vietnam. From my experiences it’s a cold place, very different from the Vietnam you know (when you first arrive in Hanoi or Saigon it’s kinda hot and humid). So it’s a cold place.

There’s 3 types of weather there: The wind season, the hot season and the rainy season. It’s a kind of mix between french weather and vietnamese weather, that’s why most of the french colonials used to go there for holidays, in order to be refreshed!

Also during World War 2, Dalat used to be the capital of Indochina.

From the Myth!

Dalat seems to be a strange place. That’s my opinion, let me explain it. The weather there is hot and it looks like France, there is mountains, it is not so dry nor so hot. There is that Swiss and French charm that you don’t find in any other cities of Vietnam (except for Hoi An). And the people are friendliest. Especially the old ones seems to like the foreigners much! They smile before you do it and they talk a bit french lol.

I like that place but i think it is boring to live there, it’s like a typical french city country side with people that loves karaoke!

Some pictures of one of the most mysterious place of Vietnam: The Halong Bay.

s3400029.jpg s3400032.jpg s3400043.jpg s3400057.jpg

Cool Informations on the Halong Bay

The Halong Bay is at 200 km from Hanoi in the north of Vietnam. It is based in the gulf of Tokin, and it is nearby China. It has 120 kilometre coastline. The bay consists of a dense cluster of around 2000 limestone monolithic islands, each topped with thick jungle vegetation. Several of the islands are hollow, with enormous caves.

The direct translation of “Halong Bay” is “Bay of Descending Dragons” which is pretty cool actually, i love dragons. It is one of the vietnam’s place most visited by tourist and is considered a World Heritage!

You can learn more about the Halong Bay using google or yahoo
